So you wanna learn to palace.
Well we at City Heat want
to make this as smooth and easy for you as possible
So we have put together
a little guide for you to make things easier.
First of all Hanging out
at the mansion is OK if you are 12. Wanna chat with Adults and have a great
time? City Heat is the place
1. Moving from Palace to Palace
So the first thing we
will introduce you to is how to connect using an address, as opposed to a book
mark.

OK so first you click
on File at the top
choose Connect to palace.
Then enter the numbers.
You can cut and paste from the following: 63.217.171.106 for the first box and
9999 for the second.
Then click on OK. Be sure
to bookmark our palace. You will be coming back. You can do this by clicking
on Bookmark at the top of the Palace window, and choosing Add Bookmark. You
will know it is bookmarked because a pop up will tell you Bookmark Added. As
you can see Palace works allot like a browser. It has back and forward buttons
also. So if you want to go where you have already been just click the appropriate
button.
2. Changing your Name
Ok, Now you will also
need to know how to change your name. You can do this two ways. You can go to
Edit at the top of the Palace Window, and Choose Preferances. You can edit your
user name from this box. Or you can simply right click on yourself and choose
Change Name from the list that will pop up. Some characters are not allowed
by some servers, and the program will not allow you to use invalid characters.
3. Changing your Appearance
So you look like a MARBLE!!!
This means you need
an AVATAR.
From The Gate at City
Heat in the top right hand corner you will see the word PROPS.
Click on that and you
will be whisked to our prop gate. This just mean that you will go to a room
that has links leading to all the categories of props we have to offer. City
Heat has an extensive collection of Props for men, women, and couples. When
you enter a room the instructions for viewing the props will be announced to
you. If you have questions refer to the log or ask for help. You can get help
by typing" 'page I need some help" of something to that effect. The
command 'page is needed the message is up to you.
OK so you found an avatar
you want to keep what do you do???

While you are wearing
the avatar you want to save, click on Avatars at the top of screen. Choose Member
Avatars and the box in the above picture will pop up. Now on the wear this column
on the right there will be the Yellow marble. Click the Save this button. When
the avatar is saved you will have the same picture on each side. The next time
you want to save an avatar just move down the list of "hot Keys" or
macro combinations listed in the center until you see another marble. Now if
you happen to cover an old avatar with a new one don't worry you will still
have both avatars in your prop bag which will be discussed next. While there
are many "hot keys" if you are like me you will eventually have more
avatars than you do macros. Meaning for seldom used avatars you will have to
dig in your prop bag. Don't worry it isn't a big deal. I do it everyday, giggle.

OK so you wanna look in
your prop bag. You can do this two ways. By clicking the black bag a the bottom
right of the Palace window, or by clicking on options and choosing Prop Window.
Both will bring up the box in the picture above. It is pretty straight forward.
You find the avatar or in this case props (which are the pieces of avatars)
that you want to wear. Then you click on the box with each piece and highlight
it, then click the Wear button. You can also just double click on each piece.
Be sure you have your centered Avart on or you will just be reopening the prop
bag to get the rest. Some avatar have pieces that are almost blank except for
a few pixels. So if you put on a avatar and it doesn't look right, or there
is a chunk missing you probably missed a prop. An avatar consists of a max of
9 props or pieces.
OK now a few more of the
basics.
4. Opening the Log
First off in a crowded
room you may have a hard time keeping up with the conversation. For this reason
it is helpful to have your Log Window open.

OK you can open your log
by clicking on the button on the tool bar marked Log on the red book. Yeah I
know some will find this obvious some won't. Now your log window is a floating
window meaning you can put it where you want it. You can also size it as you
like.
5. Moving around the Chat
Window
To move around the chat
window you can use two methods. You can point your cursor and click where you
want your avatar to be. Or you can hit the Tab button till the text window turns
dark, then use your arrow keys to manuver your Av. This secound method is more
for fine tuning your location. If you do too much of this it may Lag other users.
The best method is a combination of the two. Point and click, then use the arrow
keys to get exactly where you want to be
6. Specialized Text Balloons
Something else you can
access from the tool bar are specialized text balloons. The spiked balloon for
exclamations, the thought balloon, and the tacky balloon are all buttons on
the Tool bar. You type what you like into the text window click the appropriate
balloon button and press enter.
If you want to save a
bit of trouble you can do the following. For the spiked balloon type and exclamation
point(!) before your words and press enter. For a thought balloon type a colon
(:) first. For a tacky balloon
type a carat (^) first. These tacky balloons used mostly for typing brb(be right
back) if you are going afk(away from keyboard). I took a while reading the log
to figure this out for myself. I am blonde, giggle what can I say.
OK so you know how to
Connect, Make a Bookmark, Save an Avatar, and use text balloons. There are many
links at City Heat's site for finding other tutorials and information about
using The Palace. Enjoy yourself. Remember Chat is fun.
But most of All come back
to City Heat and see us often.
